Real situation:

I used to have a friend who is in her younger 20s and she is dating a married man who is 2x her age. Her and I used to be close, but she is now in love with the married man...and he does not want her to have contact with me any longer, since we were involved at one time. She thinks she is in love with this man, although he has no plans to leave his wife, and has told this girl such. I would love to send an email to his wife, or to her father, but I figure that would not help at all. Any advice on how I should handle this? I mean, the way I see it he is destroying any chance this girl has to be able to establish a trusting, productive, and real relationship. Am I wrong?

People make bad choices. Let it play out; she'll figure it out at some point and hopefully learning will occur.

I admire females who date (married) older men. It will be a good learning experience for the young lady. Before the Clinton adminstration there used to be a stigma attached being the "other woman". Today it widely accepted and quite fashionable. Being with a mature married gentleman gives a girl pride and self esteem.

First of all, don't listen to Dr Phil-edrus, the guys is a clown and still to this day prays for the day "Joannie loves Chachi" comes back on the airwaves.

I suggest you stop whining about some girl that is chasing someone far more successful than you are today. It is quite apparent the other gentlemen has a job and can get chicks. So he won and you lost.

You got dumped and instead of putting down that ATARI controller and getting back on the horse to find a new gal, you resigned to ask a sports forum for advice...

Movvvvve on ....

At first my advice was going to be that you should use your knowledge of their relationship as leverage to get her in the sack. Since you've already had her, I guess it's kind of a moot point. If you're going to turn them in, you have to be discreet about it and make sure they can't prove or suspect that it was you so as to protect your friendship with her.

Let the ho have her fling with the old money fart. She has personality issues and if it isnt the old fart it would be someone else who would be bad for her.

Henhouse,

If those assumptions had any sort of truth to them, they would be valid. Unfortunately for you...they are very incorrect.

I am not asking advice for me, but rather for my friend. If she were dating somebody, ANYBODY, who was not married...I would have no problem. My point is...the girl thinks she is in love with a man who has made a life long commitment to another woman and he has said he will not leave his wife for her. Am I wrong in thinking that this is a VERY UNHEALTHY relationship for her? Just sit back and watch her be used?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Froggy,

Just how close are you to her? You guys used to be close? Were you close until the old man told her to tell you to buzz off?

In any case, I'd pay a little visit to the old man without telling your friend and tell him that he's got some nerve picking and choosing her friends while he's not exactly giving her his all. Also, make it known that you can bring all kinds of trouble his way if he continues i.e. alimony and/or child support. Some states are favorable for the wife almost regardless of the circumstances.

Bear in mind that he may decide to tell your friend and if she is "in love" with him she'll hate you for it.

Good Luck!

FROGGY, You were thinking of sending an email to the guys's wife? Isn't that what government rats would do? If i was thinking of doing something like that I certainly would never admit it in a public forum. It sounds to me like you are bitter that she chose an older man over you, and you can't seem to move on. this picture is as old as the hills. Young good looking guy dumbfounded as to why pretty young girl leaves him for an older, balding, rich man. Sorry to say it, but most women and even hot young girls prefer guys who are worldly and have a lot of experience in the ways of the world. Looks to me like you should move on, and find a new hottie. Perhaps someday you two can be friends. For now, I suggest you

you are screwed here no matter what ya do.

it is obvious your friend won't listen to you - so there is nothing you can do there.

if you send a message to someone who will catch the 2 - and she finds out - your friendship is DONE!

like others have said - you have to let her get hurt on her own - since it is apparent she doesn't want any input from you on this matter.

MR FROGGY

You have to deal with the fact your former squeeze is banging some other more socially stable person like a SCREEN DOOR BLOWING IN HURRICANE !

It is ok, but stop with the sour grapes and stop asking gamblers for dating advice..

and please don't lead us to believe the advice is for a friend....we didn't believe Dickywad when he spewed those loser picks every week that it was for his BUDDY !!!

You lost ...he won....move on

This friend of yours is obviously very insecure. Buy her a book on self-esteem for Christmas.

WTF....this is a joke.

1) If you are looking for advice for your "friend" then why would YOU consider sending an email to the guy's wife or her dad. If your friend needs advice then clearly YOU should not be taking any actions! Either you worded your post poorly or you have something at stake here, I'm guessing the latter.

2) Your friend is clearly not too bright. Of course the relationship is unhealthy. She can be in love with this guy but he has made it clear that she will always be the other woman. If that is a role she is comfortable with then so be it. If she wants more than that she needs to get out. That's the advice you should give her.

3) Related to number 1 above, basically you should mind your own business. You mentioned that you "used" to have a friend. What does that mean? She's no longer a friend? She doesn't want to speak with you? She took her boyfriend's advice and decided to cut off contact with you? I'm not trying to come down on you but it seems like you have an ulterior motive. They are two adults, let them do what they please.

BTW, give me the married guy's email address. I'll tell him to cut her off because clearly between you and her, one of you is bound to fvck up his life.

Froggy,

You sound mad because you are being cut out of the picture and are trying to punish those involved.

So now who is the unhealthy one?

Move on.
